Heather Stone, DOMP, BSc (Hons) Osteopathy, RMT
Heather is an Osteopath and Registered Massage Therapist. She graduated from the Canadian College of Osteopathy where she completed a 5 year osteopathy program plus a thesis relating to malocclusion in children. She also graduated with a degree in Osteopathy from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine where her research involved bruxism (jaw clenching).
Heather is an Executive Board member of the Nova Scotia Association of Osteopaths. She is also a member of the Ontario Association of Osteopaths, the Canadian Federation of Osteopaths and the Massage Therapists Association of Nova Scotia.
Heather has been part of the teaching faculty of Canadian College of Osteopathy since 2011. She has instructed several courses including: the low back (lumbar spine), the pelvis (sacrum), the foot and the jaw (TMJ).
Heather uses manual therapy to reduce swelling, ease pain, locate strains and increase mobility. She works with her patients to achieve a sense of well-being and balance. Emphasis is on examining the whole body to determine the main areas of restriction causing dysfunction and pain.
