Don Brownrigg, Osteopath, BSc Kinesiology

Don is a member of the Nova Scotia Association of Osteopaths and a member of the Ontario Association of Osteopaths.

Don Brownrigg is a multi-talented individual with a diverse background and a passion for both healthcare and the arts. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University, where he excelled as both a competitive rower and a student leader. Following his studies, Don worked as a kinesiologist for several years with the Canadian Armed Forces at prominent locations such as HMC Stadacona, HMC Dockyard, and HMC Shearwater.

Don furthered his education by completing training in osteopathic manual therapy at the esteemed Canadian College of Osteopathy/Collège d'Études Ostéopathiques. Moreover, he has pursued advanced training in osteopathic impulses and the techniques of William G. Sutherland. This extensive knowledge and expertise allow him to provide a holistic approach to osteopathy, which aligns perfectly with his genuine desire to help individuals heal and explore creative pathways in their journey to well-being.

Don has completed an online certificate in the application and use of kinesiology taping for clinical practice. This course covers full body taping techniques for common MSK conditions, Inc UEX and LEX, sporting applications, bruising and pregnancy taping.

Beyond his healthcare pursuits, Don is an active member of the artistic community and has garnered critical acclaim for his work as a songwriter, theatre artist, and event planner. His talent and dedication have culminated in the release of three full-length albums, and his music has even been featured on notable platforms like The Blacklist and American Idol. Don has also embarked on international tours as a musician, actor, and puppeteer, collaborating with esteemed organizations such as Halifax Pride, Halifax Jazz Festival, and the Atlantic International Film Festival.

Don's rich and diverse experiences have nurtured his appreciation for each individual's unique story. This curiosity drives his continuous learning and further ensures that he approaches each patient with a personalized and empathetic mindset. With a blend of expertise in osteopathy and a deep understanding of individual narratives, Don is well-equipped to provide comprehensive treatment and support to those he serves.
