Heathy Tips for Garden Upkeep

Most of you probably have your gardens planted by now, but we want to remind you about a few things regarding the upkeep of your garden to keep your body happy.

Try to do tasks in the same position for only 15 minutes at a time, then move to a different body position. For example, if you are weeding on your knees, stay on your knees for no longer than 15 minutes, then stand up to do some pruning for another 15 minutes. After that, sit down for 15 minutes if that is more comfortable and take a rest, have some water and repeat.

While you are working on your knees, make sure you have something under your them such as strap on knee pads, some thick foam, or a foam pad with handles to assist you getting up and down. These actually turn over to provide you with a seat. You can usually purchase these your favourite gardening store.
